What can I see at the Sydney Aquarium?
The Sydney Aquarium’s theme is 100% Australian which takes visitors through Australia’s waterways and marine ecosystems. Over the years there has been a number of changes at the Sydney Aquarium.
The Sydney Aquarium has over 6000 animals. In 1991, a Seal Sanctuary was opened which houses Australian Sea Lions, Australian Fur Seals and others. The seals can be seen in underwater viewing tunnels as well from above on the open air deck however in 2008 the sanctuary was closed and they were sent to Sea World.
In 1998, a brand new Great Barrier Reef complex was opened which has a tropical touch pool, a live coral cave and a massive Great Barrier Reef oceanarium.
